Earning Money At Home
written by Kristy Howard, April 2008
I am a full-time mom and our family of four (soon to be five) lives off one income- my husband's. Since Jeremy is in full-time ministry, which obviously isn't a high-paying "job", we face a challenge that many other families from various walks of life also encounter- living off a rather meager one-income!
Lest I sound like a whiny complainer, let me quickly say that our needs are always met, usually above and beyond what we could ever imagine. God is faithful!
But I am well acquainted with the ins and outs of living frugally, making dollars stretch, and the value of clipping coupons and hitting the bargain racks! (Kristy's definition of "bargain": at least 75% off retail price.)
As a wife and mother, I find a lot of fulfillment in doing my part to wisely manage our finances. On the flip side, I also enjoy making money!! Now, there's a real challenge! It's one thing to shave $10 or $20 dollars a week off your grocery bill, and quite another to actually generate income for yourself or your family.
I'm not a pro on this subject but I am learning a lot along the way as I stretch my enterprenueral wings, so to speak, and watch the Lord provide!
If you are a mother with young children still at home, take heart- you can earn money from your home! You may not "get rich", but then the Lord never promised we'd be living "high on the hog", did He???
For those young women who are still unmarried or are married without children yet, you are at the prime point in your life to begin developing your skills and talents to earn an income- even if it is a small one- from your home. Don't waist your opportunities; once the duties of marriage and motherhood set in your "free time" will be a thing of the past!
Here you'll find a list of my favorite articles and resources for earning money at home. May God bless your endeavors to glorify and honor Him in all you do!
